BUCKHANNON, West Virginia - Now that the majority of the Salem fall sports are in full swing, it became time for the multi-season sports to begin the fall portion of their season, namely the Salem Tennis program. The Tigers kicked off their campaign with a short trip down to Buckhannon to compete in the Bobcat Bash, hosted by West Virginia Wesleyan College.Â
The Tigers competed well across the board, and even found themselves competing in the finals of their groups. For example, Eduardo Cama and Pablo Guillen played well in the men's doubles portion of the competition and won their group. In the women's single portion of the competition, Kylie Diaz advanced to the tournament final, but was unable to compete in it as it was canceled due to inclimate weather.Â
Even though the weather limited the Tiger's opportunity to compete in this tournament, they will have another excellent opportunity to compete with some of the best collegiate tennis has to offer next week. They are slated to head up to Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania to compete in the ITA Atlantic Region Tournament. That competition starts on September 16th and runs through September 19th.
