Salem Softball Announces 2026 Schedule

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — Salem University Softball has announced its 2026 schedule, featuring a balanced mix of early-season tournaments, regional nonconference matchups, and a full slate of spring competition at The Bridge Sports Complex.

The Tigers will open the 2026 campaign at home on Friday, Feb. 27, hosting Malone University for a doubleheader at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. in Bridgeport. Salem will remain at home the following weekend with a Sunday doubleheader against California (Pa.) on March 1, continuing an early stretch focused on building momentum in familiar surroundings.

March highlights include Salem's annual trip to Florida for the Space Coast Spring Games in Melbourne. The Tigers will face a strong slate of regional and national competition, including Minnesota Crookston, University of Mary, Bridgeport, Jamestown, St. Cloud State, and Bemidji State between March 4–7, providing valuable neutral-site experience early in the season.

Following the Florida trip, Salem will compete in the Salem (Va.) Round Robin, hosted by West Virginia Wesleyan, on March 14–15, with games against Mansfield, Bowie State, California (Pa.), and Edinboro. The Tigers then return to West Virginia for a series of regional road contests beginning with a midweek doubleheader at Pitt-Johnstown on March 18.

The heart of the schedule features an extended homestand at The Bridge Sports Complex, where Salem will host familiar opponents such as Ohio Christian, Point Park, Frostburg State, Fairmont State, Davis & Elkins, West Virginia Wesleyan, West Virginia State, University of Charleston, Walsh, Wheeling, and West Liberty throughout late March, April, and early May. The stretch provides the Tigers with consistent home-field opportunities during the peak of the season.

Road challenges in April include trips to Ohio Christian, Fairmont State, Frostburg State, Malone, Bluefield State, Glenville State, and Concord, testing Salem against a variety of conference and nonconference foes across the region.

Salem will close the regular season at home on May 1, hosting West Liberty University for a doubleheader, wrapping up the 2026 slate in front of the home crowd at The Bridge.
