SALEM, W.Va. – A new season is on the horizon as the Salem University women's soccer team prepares to kick off the 2026 campaign with an 18-match schedule that features regional competition, seven home matches, and opportunities to build momentum throughout the fall.
The Tigers will begin the season with back-to-back road contests, traveling to Mansfield University on Aug. 27 before making the trip to Felician University on Aug. 30. Salem returns home for the first time on Sept. 5 when it welcomes Ohio Christian University to The Bridge Sports Complex for the 2026 home opener.
The opening month presents an exciting slate of competition as the Tigers host Bluefield State University and Mars Hill University while making road trips to Lincoln University (Pa.), Christendom College, and Alice Lloyd College. The early portion of the schedule provides Salem with the opportunity to test itself against a variety of regional opponents before entering the heart of the season.
October features several key matchups as the Tigers continue their home schedule with contests against Alice Lloyd, D'Youville University, and the University of Cincinnati-Clermont. Salem will also welcome Virginia State University for a neutral site match on Oct. 24 in Philippi, West Virginia before closing out the home schedule against Cincinnati-Clermont on Oct. 28.
Away from Bridge Sports Complex, Salem will face challenging road tests against Kentucky Christian University, the University of Rio Grande, Ohio Christian University, California University of Pennsylvania, and Bluefield State University to conclude the regular season.
In all, the Tigers will play seven home matches while facing a balanced schedule of NCAA Division II, NAIA, NCCAA, and USCAA opponents from across the Mid-Atlantic and Appalachian regions. The schedule provides numerous opportunities for Salem to compete against familiar opponents while also welcoming several programs to Bridgeport throughout the fall.
With a full preseason to prepare and a competitive schedule awaiting, the Tigers are eager to begin the 2026 campaign and continue building toward a successful season.
The 2026 season gets underway on Thursday, Aug. 27, at Mansfield University before Salem returns to Bridge Sports Complex for its home opener against Ohio Christian University on Saturday, Sept. 5.
