SALEM, WV - Sophomore Inigo Velasco (Madrid, Spain / Colegio San Agustín) from the Salem International University men's swimming team has been named the Male Student-Athlete of the Week for January 9-16, 2017.

Velasco recorded a personal-best time of 10:50.15 in the 800 meter freestyle at the Frostburg State Meet, bringing home a fifth-place finish for the Tigers.

He also was a part of the Tigers' 200 meter medley relay team that brought home a fourth-place showing with a time of 2:07.62.
