URBANA, Ohio – The Salem University men's and women's swimming teams swept in the swim meet at Urbana (Ohio), Friday night.
The women's team defeated Ursuline 136-43 and Urbana 121-59, while the men's team topped Urbana 91-50.
The women picked up seven event wins, while the men also garnered seven wins.

Danielle Lewis started off the meet with a first-place victory and a time of 2:07.58.

Lauren Platz each earned two wins as Gruszczynska placed first in the 200-yard freestyle (2:14.40) and 100-yard butterfly (1:04.95), while Platz won the 100-yard backstroke (1:05.28) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:54.25).
Freshman
Annefleur ten Bloemendal swam to a first-place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 12:32.47, while she finished second in the 200-yard IM with a mark of 2:36.30.
Lewis, Turner and freshman
Philippa Piper each finished second in their respective events as Lewis finished the 50-yard freestyle at 27.56, Turner swam the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:20.38 and Piper finished the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:02.40.
The women closed the meet out with another relay victory as Platz, Piper, freshman
Chloe Smart and freshman
Chloe Woodbine finished the 200-yard freestyle with a mark of 1:52.38.

Sean Rhode placed first with a time of 1:46.88.
Kephart and Samuels both swept their events as Samuels won the 200-yard IM (2:03.69) and the 100-yard freestyle (50.25), while Kephart was victorious in the 500 (5:13.57) and 1000-yard freestyles (11:07.34).
Sophomore
Gabriel Craig and Smith each recorded a first and second-place finish as Craig finished first in the 200-yard freestyle (2:06.08) and second in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:12.05), while Smith swam to first in the 100-yard butterfly (56.57) and second in the 50-yard freestyle (23.51).
The Tigers are back in the pool tomorrow as they travel to California (Pa.) for a tri-meet with Notre Dame (Ohio) and California (Pa.) set for a 1:00 p.m. start.
