BUCKHANNON, W.Va. –The Salem University men's and women's swimming teams each fell against West Virginia Wesleyan, Friday night.
The women's team dropped the meet to Wesleyan 186-58, while the men fell to Wesleyan 184-78.
With the losses, the women fall to 5-4, while the men drop to 3-4.
On the women's side, the 200-yard relay team of freshman
Lauren Platz, freshman
Katherine Turner, freshman
Chloe Smart and freshman
Danielle Lewis finished second with a time of 1:59.72.
Smart had an impressive evening as she finished with two first-place finishes in the 50 and 100-yard freestyle with times of 26.63 and 57.38, respectively, while she took home second in the 200-yard freestyle with a mark of 2:08.06.
Turner finished first in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:16.33, while she finished second in the 50-yard breaststroke at 34.86.
Lewis and Platz each picked up a second-place finish as Lewis finished second in the 50-yard freestyle at 27.10 and Platz finished second in the 100-yard backstroke at 1:04.64.

Brady Samuels and senior
Mateo Kozomara placed second with a time of 1:41.98.
Samuels led the way as he took home two first-place finishes in the 100 and 200-yard freestyle with times of 49.20 and 1:49.50, respectively. He also placed second in the 100-yard butterfly with a mark of 53.86.
Smith placed second in each of his three events, the 50-yard freestyle (23.12), 100-yard breaststroke (1:02.64) and the 100-yard IM (57.46).
Kephart finished second-place in the 100-yard backstroke (58.12) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:10.19).
The Tigers have a quick turnaround as they host their final home meet of the season tomorrow against Frostburg State and Bethany for Senior Day.
