CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Salem University men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Golden Eagle Invitational in Charleston, Saturday.
For the women, sophomore
Cerise Dingiswayo placed 11
th in the 400 meter with a time of 1:15.12, while also finishing in 15
th place in the 800 meter clocking in at 3:00.90.
In the shot put event, sophomore
Jasmine Taleni threw her way to eighth place with a distance of 9.61 meters, as freshman Jennifer Chester threw a distance of 8.16 meters for a
13th place finish senior
Ariana Garcia placed 14
th with a distance of 8.05 meters.
As for the men, freshman
Shammond Williams placed third in the 400 meter dash with a time of 51.55 and third in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.30.
Freshman
Isaiah Harris placed sixth in the 400 meter dash recording a time of 54.08 and 11
th in the 800 meter with a time of 2:07.27.
Freshman
Mario Ospina placed fourth in the 5000 meter race timing in at 15:58.05. Freshman
Xavier Engleton placed ninth in the 110 meter hurdles.
Freshman
Delmar Jeter leaped his way to seventh place in the triple jump with a distance of 11.39 meters and third place at 5.33 meters in the long jump.
The Tigers head to Myrtle Beach, S.C. next to compete in the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational March 15-16.
