Salem University had its five-meet home unbeaten streak snapped Saturday as the Tigers narrowly fell to Davis & Elkins College 133-127 in NCAA Division II men's swimming Saturday. The loss was the Tigers' first at Salem Pool since October 26, 2018.

After splitting the first four events, Salem (3-2) captured first-place finishes in the next four events and five of the next six. Davis & Elkins (5-1) swimmers won three of the final four events, sealing the meet victory in the 400 yard freestyle relay.

Brady Samuels picked up three first-place finishes for the Tigers, winning the 200 yard fly and the 50 yard freestyle. He also combined with
Austin Kephart,
Fernando Gomez Perez and
Greg Smith to win the 200 yard medley relay to open the meet.

Perez and
Zach Bell also earned a pair of individual first-place finishes. Â Bell won both the 100 and 200 yard freestyle, while Perez won the 100 yard breast and the 200 yard individual medley.
Mateusz Jedrzejewski, who finished second behind Perez in the 100 yard breast, took first place in the 200 yard breast.

Saturday's meet was the Tigers' first competition since the ECAC Championships in early December.

Salem heads to Bethany, W.Va., Friday to face Bethany College and Frostburg State University. The Tigers play host to West Virginia Wesleyan College next Saturday.
