SALEM, West Virginia – In his final weekend of racing before conference championships, senior swimmer Fernando Gomez has been named Conference Carolinas Men's Swimmer of the week. Last week Gomez took part in a home meet against WVU Tech and topped each event he was placed in. In the 100 Yard breastroke he touched in at 1:01:71, for the 200 Yard IM he finished in at 2:04:16 and he was also a part of the winning 200 Yard Medley relay. This was a great effort from one of the seniors and was well rewarded by the conference. Gomez will be back in action next week in Tennessee for his event in the conference championships.
